On the 1st landing, a geological section - from the Itterberg over the Ohrsberg to the Burghälde - shows that 200 to 300 million years ago, the Neckar with its large volumes of water burrowed deeply through the mighty red sandstone layers of the landscape, right down to the granite base.
The image of the "original Neckar" with its numerous loops has played a major role in shaping the mountains and valleys near Eberbach. On the slopes of the river, the rock is therefore often exposed, one of the reasons for the formation of the quarries. In the showcase, finds from different rocks of the region are exhibited.
The Eberbach collections were mostly gathered by private individuals. With the opening of the museum in 1986, there was finally a public exhibition opportunity. But the museum is too small for the diverse and varied collection areas. Thus thematic jumps in the tour of the visit cannot be avoided.
